5. Discuss the art of short-story writing in the hands of Hemingway. Give suitable examples from the stories prescribed in your course. (20)

6. Critically evaluate the treatment of oppositional extremes of life and death as done in "The Emperor of Ice-cream". (20)

7. "Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye is a serious scrutiny of colour consciousness of the times." Elaborate. (20)
